There are 3 major salivary glands and around 800 minor salivary glands.
Salivary flow disruption can be express in different ways (calculus/lithiasis, mucoceles, ranullas).
Tumors in parotid glands are usually benign, but do not disregard parotid masses, because some can be malignant.
The probability of malignancy is higher in sublingual and minor salivary glands
Surgery is the mainstain therapy for salivary gland tumors. Radiotherapy can a complementary treatment or monotherapy in some specific cases.
