ARTICLE 1 — SCOPE
These General Payment Conditions apply to all medical and surgical services provided by Miguel Lopes Oliveira Unipessoal, Lda., trading as FACES Facial Surgery.
The Client declares having read and fully accepted these conditions at the time of confirming the surgical date.
ARTICLE 2 — QUOTATION VALIDITY
The presented quotation is valid for 60 (sixty) days from the date of issue. After this period, the indicated values may be revised, including in the event of changes to surgical material costs, fees, or the clinic’s price list.
The quotation may also be revised in the event of a change to the treatment plan by the surgeon, or whenever the provision of services requires the participation of specialised clinical service providers whose costs are not reflected in the initial proposal.
ARTICLE 3 — NATURE OF SERVICES PROVIDED
Medical and surgical services are invoiced by Miguel Lopes Oliveira Unipessoal, Lda. (FACES Facial Surgery). The performance of certain procedures may involve the participation of surgical facilities, anaesthesia, pathology, imaging, or other specialised clinical services provided by duly licensed entities, as clinically applicable to each case.
The Client will be informed, through appropriate clinical documentation — including the informed consent form and, where applicable, billing documentation — whenever the provision of services involves the participation of external entities.
ARTICLE 4 — DATE RESERVATION DEPOSIT
To definitively confirm the surgical date, the Client must pay a deposit of 50% (fifty percent) of the total amount stated in the quotation, by bank transfer to the account indicated in the documentation issued by FACES Facial Surgery.
The surgical date is only considered reserved upon receipt and confirmation of the deposit. In the absence of payment within the agreed period, the date may be made available to other patients without prior notice.
ARTICLE 5 — PAYMENT OF REMAINING BALANCE
The remaining balance (50% of the total quotation value) must be settled on the day of surgery, prior to the procedure. A detailed invoice will be issued within a maximum of 2 (two) weeks after the procedure.
ARTICLE 6 — CANCELLATION AND REFUND
6.1 Cancellation by the Client
- a) More than 7 days in advance: the deposit will be fully refunded.
- b) 7 days or fewer in advance: the deposit will not be refunded, as it will serve to cover administrative, scheduling, and unused reservation costs.
- c) Non-attendance without prior notice: the deposit will not be refunded.
6.2 Force Majeure
In the event of duly evidenced force majeure preventing the procedure, the deposit will be fully refunded.
6.3 Cancellation by FACES Facial Surgery
In the event of cancellation by FACES Facial Surgery for reasons not attributable to the Client, the deposit will be fully refunded.
6.4 Date Change
Changing the surgical date is subject to availability and must be requested in writing to info@faces.pt. Changes requested with fewer than 7 days’ notice may incur additional administrative costs.
6.5 Refund Procedure
Any refund request must be submitted in writing to info@faces.pt. Refunds will be processed within 30 days, by bank transfer to the account indicated by the Client.
ARTICLE 7 — ADDITIONAL COSTS
The quotation covers the main surgical procedure under the described conditions. Surgical complications, revisions for anatomophysiological reasons, unforeseen additional materials, or complementary post-operative treatments — including but not limited to physiotherapy, additional medication, specialist consultations, or further procedures — constitute additional costs not included in the initial quotation, to be borne by the Client.
These costs will always be communicated to the Client before being incurred, except in clinical emergency situations.
ARTICLE 8 — COMPLAINTS
Any complaint relating to invoicing must be submitted within 8 business days of the invoice date, in writing to info@faces.pt. The submission of a complaint does not suspend the payment obligation.
ARTICLE 9 — GOVERNING LAW
These conditions are governed by Portuguese law. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Portuguese courts, without prejudice to mandatory legal rights applicable to consumers and patients.
